As the largest electric power distribution concessionaire in the state of Espírito Santo, Escelsa serves a population of 3.2 million inhabitants and 70 of the state's 78 cities. The company closed out 2006 with a total of 1.1 million clients. The main economic activities of the region are the production of paper, steel, iron ore, petroleum and gas.
