The policy of EDP Energias do Brasil is to distribute dividends and/or interest on shareholders' equity equal to an indicative level of 40% (forty percent) of the company's adjusted net profit, calculated in accordance with Art. 189 of the Joint Stock Company (Sociedades por Ações) Law, the general accounting practices adopted in Brazil and the rules of the CVM (Brazilian Securities and Exchange Commission).

Despite the adoption of this dividend policy, the company may distribute dividends or interest on shareholders' equity equaling less than 40% of its adjusted net profit during any fiscal year when required to do so by legal or regulatory requirements, or if advisable based on the company's financial standing and/or prospects, macroeconomic conditions, tariff revisions or adjustments, regulatory changes, growth strategies, contractual limitations and other factors deemed relevant by the Board of Directors and shareholders of EDP Energias do Brasil.
